Short PSA: Trans and non-binary people on medical forms

All medical forms have an input for gender, and most, if not all, present only the options Male and Female. While it may be difficult being misgendered, doctors need to know your sex as assigned at birth. The different sexes run different health risks, and this information is needed by medical professionals to know where and what to test for. For example, even if you presently identify as a female, if your birth sex was male, you still run the risk of prostate cancer. So, instead of crossing out the checkboxes and inserting your gender, please select your assigned sex at birth, for your own safety.

Note: This only applies to medical forms, this information is not vital on opinion surveys

Coming Out

If any of you are scared to come out, I wanna tell you that when you do you'll have your true friends there to support you all the way. If your parents are homophobic, tell them God created all men equal. Black, White, Hispanic, Gay, Straight, Male, Female and everything in between is equal. Here's a few tips to help when you're ready to come out:
1: Tell your best friend first, they may make it easier.
2: Tell you parents that you have to tell something important.
3:  As you tell them think about how happy you'll be later. Your parents should be happy too.
4: Tell the rest of your family. Start with some you're close to, like your aunt or cousin.
5: Just be happy! Even if your parents are 100% okay with it, you'll be happier in the future! Everyone needs to be happy!

A List of Genders

Female: Of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) that can be fertilized by male gametes.

Male: Of or denoting the sex that produces small, typically motile gametes, especially spermatozoa, with which a female may be fertilized or inseminated to produce offspring.

Bigender: Bigender generally means you identify as two genders. You could identify as both at the same time. You can go back and forth between two genders.

Androgyne: Androgyny is the combination of masculine and feminine characteristics. Sexual ambiguity may be found in fashion, gender identity, sexual identity, or sexual lifestyle.

Agender: Someone who identifies as genderless, neither male nor female. They may be celibate or sexual of any orientation.

Intergender: A gender identity between, among, or in the midst of the binary genders of male/masculine and female/feminine.

Demiboy: Can be used to describe someone assigned male at birth who feels but the barest association with that identification, though not a significant enough dissociation to create real physical discomfort or dysphoria, or someone assigned female at birth who is trans masculine but not wholly binary-identified, so that they feel more strongly associated with “male” than “female,” socially or physically, but not strongly enough to justify an absolute self-identification as “man".

Demigirl: Someone who's gender identity varies, but ranges from girl to neither girl nor boy.

Third Gender: If someone is of the third gender, they are considered neither male nor female, whether by their will or by social consensus. Not to be mistaken for third sex. Sex and gender are not synonymous. Sex refers to whether they are biologically male or female. Gender is a state of mind. One can be born female, but live as a male. This has no influence on sexual orientation, nor vice versa. Typically, those of the third gender prefer to be referred to using gender-neutral pronouns, such as one, ze, sie, hir, or ey.

Genderqueer: Most commonly used to describe a person who feels that his/her gender identity does not fit into the socially constructed "norms" associated with his/her biological sex.
Genderqueer is an identity that falls anywhere between man/boy/male and woman/girl/female on the spectrum of gender identities.

Pangender: A person who does not conform to binary gender standards. Someone who identifies as neither male or female, but instead a third gender.

Genderfluid: A gender identity best described as a dynamic mix of boy and girl. A person who is Gender Fluid may always feel like a mix of the two traditional genders, but may feel more boy some days, and more girl other days.
Being Gender Fluid has nothing to do with which set of genitalia one has, nor their sexual orientation.

Transgender: A term referring to when one's gender and sex are not always or ever equivalent. Often used as a referrant to the person themself.
